Remember these lovely people? Oh I love them so much. Ever since we hugged for the first time seven months ago. Their photoshoot in Cape Town was one of my favorite experiences in life, ever. And I’m not being dramatic here. That wind, high up over that beautiful city, their love … ah it was fantastic.
And the wedding matched. You can’t really go wrong with any Tuscan villa, but Villa Gamberaia is a particularly stunning place. The grounds are phenomenal, the outside cathedral where the ceremony took place made my heart skip a beat when I saw it. And the view over Florence is ridiculous. Basically, it feels like you are in a movie the whole time – and I will never stop being thankful for the places I get to go to for work.
V and Paolo are so sweet and loving and the whole day was super emotional and a lot of FUN. You might know from my Youtube videos that the speeches are my favorite part of every wedding (yes!) and this one…boy. I cried behind my camera and I wanted to hug everyone. You could say I was in a bit of a love rush.
The light in their eyes, the view over Florence, their laughter carried by the wind, the sound of italian music in the air – some nights are just magical.
One of the best things about this wedding was working with Ian and his team (hey Wayne!) – it was amazing! We’ve always dreamed of working together after filming this video together two years ago in Cape Town. And I’m happy to report everything went according to the theory, haha :)
If you care to see some behind the scenes of our time in Italy you can watch this little vlog I made. I’m going to stop rambling now because this post is already long without me adding the content of my brain, but as always, I have to.
Thank you for everything you gave us, V and Paolo, your heartfelt hugs, your warmth, your care, your love for black and white photos – we are excited to see you again in South Africa in January!
