Do you know how sometimes you meet people and you don’t think you will actually see them again? No offense to anyone ;) In 2014 we met Olga and Niel for this Pretty Blog Editorial shoot – and we had a great day together. I love the shoot to this day and I loved these two, but I didn’t know when we would ever come back to South Africa and if we would stay in touch.
Well, long story short, we did stay in touch all this time and I was excited to hear about their wedding last November. So when Olga asked if we could do an after wedding shoot next time we were in South Africa – of course I was on board. Who wouldn’t be?
Olga is a fashion designer and she designed her own wedding dress AND handmade that stunning head crown! I love her taste and the thought behind it. Olga loves birds. Especially peacocks. Peacocks are associated with different meanings, the one that she liked was the one of awakening and new beginning – so they picked the peacock as a symbol throughout the whole wedding.
The way she integrated it into her dress looks so tasteful and graceful. I love people who give what they do some thought and then do it in such a beautiful way.
One meaning I found online said the peacock is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors. Now, if you know me, you can imagine how happy that made my little heart.
Because this shoot was exactly that. Olga and Niel just enjoying being close, showing their colors. To me. To each other. No holding back. No fear. No acting. Just love and beauty.
I’m not even going to try to apologize for the amount of photos in this post. Just deal with it.
