The Nadia Meli Workshop.

So here we go with the 3rd installment of my Workshop! It was the sweetest way to end my busy 2014! This group was i n c r e d i b l e ! I have to say, it is funny: the more I do these kind of workshops, the more I fall in love with them. Already can’t wait for the next one!

It is so interesting for me to witness those 5 complete strangers that meet on the first night of the workshop – and then leave as  friends: so close and connected after two days.

First they are all shy and reluctant – and then they don’t want to leave and go home and it’s hard to tear them apart. Such an incredibly beautiful thing to watch!

If you would like to read an explicit description of what this workshop is, please go this way. Let me say this much on here: it is not your normal photography workshop :) You can also watch the Vlog I made at the workshop weekend here :)

Thank you to Anja, Babsi, Andrea, Julia and Ulli for giving me the best proof that this kind of workshop works and that it is important. Your stories and personalities encouraged me so much, you have no idea!

And in case you are wondering, NO my workshops are not only for women ;) There have been guys attending in the past and there are some guys signed up for the Workshop next April! But I guess women are much quicker to open up and dig deep as men are. Which I think is a sad thing.

Photographers tend to run to workshops that are obvious and more hands on, like “The right posing” “the right lighting” and so on. Which are all good and well! The stuff that really matters, what is inside of you; the stuff that is hard to put into words, that is less obvious – that is what people tend to shy away from. But it is what is most important.

I want to leave you with the voices of this amazing weekend. Read what Babsi, Julia, Uli and Anja have to say.

A massive Thank you to the people who made this workshop possible: first of all my wonderful Eddy. You are the one who keeps everything together. I couldn’t pull this off without you.

The venue, Kitzlein, for making us feel right at home. (it was SO hard to leave!), Rachel from the White Gallery in Ireland, for giving us this gorgeous Rue de Seine dress; Gisela for your beautiful floral art; Thanks to Andreia for making our beautiful couple look even more beautiful. And a big Thank You to Philipp and Irina for braving the cold and being such great sports! You were fantastic.

And here are a few of my favorite shots from the photoshoot. It was terribly cold and foggy – but when you roll with it, even fog can be beautiful.

Hi Nadia, I’m so very thankful you are pursuing your gifts as an artist. I’m so inspired to pursue loving people with photography & creativity. I’m a happy stay at home mom from Washington state (yep north west, USA). I want to know when is your next work shop? And will you please please come to the states! If I can book a few weddings this summer I would totally budget going to your workshop! It would be a dream:)

These photos are gorgeous! If you ever decide to hold a workshop in America I will be the first to sign up. I love your whole philosophy behind the workshop.
